Across the Caucasus Azerbaijani men labor to build a new railroad promising to bring glory to a new generation, while across the closed borders of Armenia a lonely stationmaster sits idle in an abandoned railroad depot, where for the last twenty years he awaits the return of the trains. The workers reflect upon their desires and regrets, creating a pervasive contemplation of suspended time. The past, present and future are fluid - workers floating through the expanse striving to fill their days and dreams, as much as their pockets.
